What is the Template Contest?

The CoolJoomla Template Contest is a competition to see who can design the sweetest Joomla template that will be free for public use. The contest is simple - design a complete and unique Joomla template to share with all after the contest. Winners will be selected by a combination of votes and CoolJoomla staff.
The templates will be judged on overall design, professionalism, detail, and popularity. All designs must be allowed to be hosted on CoolJoomla for free and public download and use.

Why Should I Participate?

Fame, fortune and the chance to show your skills. Your templates can link back to your work (we will not put our link on anywhere!). And I am sure that the publicity given to your designs will get you more work! And as a winner (if you win) you will get might bragging rights! Oh, and plus there is prizes.

What, There are Prizes?

Heck yeah! We don’t want you going away empty handed!
Currently the prizes are as follows:
1st Place: $250

2nd Place: $150

3rd Place: $75

Ok, So There Are Some Minor Rules

  1. You must allow your template to be hosted on cooljoomla.com
  2. You must allow free use and download of your template
  3. Family Friendly designs! No Adult, Gambling, or anything else sketchy like that
  4. Must be xHTML 1.0 Valid and Tableless (except where it is proper to use tables)
  5. Use any version of Joomla (though I can hint that extra points will be given to designs working on BOTH 1.0.x and 1.5.x - think details!)
  6. Don’t Hold Out, Give Your Best!

How does the contest work?

From Sept. 16th to Sept. 30th, we’ll accept entries for the contest. The submission guidelines and process are described below.
Starting Oct 1st we will open the doors to judging. The contest will end Oct. 15th.
We will announce the winners on our blog on Oct. 16th.

How to Submit an Entry

  • It’s easy! First make sure your design is completely zipped up in ready to install format.
  • Email us at contest [AT] cooljoomla.com with your full name, mailing address and contact information.
  • You will get instructions on uploading your files after you send your email
  • That’s it. Get your friends to come vote for your design!
